Chuck's Dream : The Stallion Bueno Sky
It began as a dream of a young man by the name of Chuck Hitchcock who, after a lifetime of being in the auto parts business with his father, turned his back on a thriving business to do what he always wanted to do, train horses. He was a horseman, by all definitions. He loved his work and began a lifetime of asscociation with local horse lovers and cattlemen. He learned how to train a cow horse.
In an effort to further his education, Chuck began riding with his life long friend, Greg Ward. As a result of that association, Mr. Ward gave him a horse with a champion pedigree. The horse was to be called "Bueno Sky",sired by the one and only "Bueno Chex".
Chuck bred local mares, which made great ranch horses, but never promoted Bueno Sky to any well known mares. Few were shown, and those that were shown, were shown on a local basis. Bueno Sky, the forgotten stallion," the best kept secret of Kern County", as Chuck would say, got his first chance to prove himself when Chuck's daughter, Linda, came home and began to suggest that Bueno Sky be bred to champion mares. This would further Chuck's dream of promoting the "Bueno Chex horse".
IMPERIAL RANCH
Imperial Ranch is a dream in the making. After Linda's marriage to Jerry Gould, a local horse trainer & auctioneer, Chuck and Linda's dream joined with Jerry, began to develop with a new ranch location and new found goals. The old vaquero style was handed down, yet modernized to the present day levels. Those old ways are still being followed.
